Awards for activities in the area of staff development and promotion

We are pleased to see that our efforts and work in the area of HR development and promotion bear fruit time and again. An insight into the many awards and prizes we’ve received is given below:

2011: Top Jobs award

In May 2010 the University of St. Gallen conducted a survey among 1,500 SEMIKRON International employees, scrutinising the company’s HR management. The out-come: on 27th January 2011 Semikron was awarded the “top job” seal of quality by mentor Wolfgang Clement in Duisburg, putting the company among the top-ranking employers in Germany. mehr

2008: German President commends SEMIKRON training measures

March 2008: Parallel to working at SEMIKRON, our staff may also take part in the initiative “I want a profession!”, a training programme leading to a Chamber of Commerce qualification in machine and systems operation. This training scheme was the result of cooperation with the German Federal Employment Agency, ffw GmbH, the European Education and Training Centre in Nuremberg and the Chamber of Commerce. mehr

2007: Work and Family Audit

In August 2007 SEMIKRON Deutschland received certification by the work and family compatibility auditor berufundfamilie®. This certification constitutes a seal of approval from the Hertie Foundation, a non-profit organisation that aims to establish family-friendly HR policy with recognised quality standards in businesses. mehr  

2007: Opening of the company childcare centre

“A clearer focus on family and children is needed in the working world,” announced German Family Affairs Minister Dr. Ursula von der Leyen at the opening ceremony of SEMIKRON’s daycare centre on 27th June 2007. Almost 500 guests took part in the festivities in a marquee beside the daycare centre. mehr  

2005: Success Factor Family

The Chamber of Commerce and the Alliance of Families called for companies in Nuremberg to take part in the competition “Success Factor Family”, a project backed by the then Family Affairs Minister, Renate Schmidt. 15 companies from the Nuremberg region entered the competition, including SEMIKRON International GmbH. mehr

2004: Bavarian Award for the Promotion of Women

For many years now, SEMIKRON has been exemplary in its efforts to achieve a good balance between work and the family – not only at its Nuremberg plant. In 2004, for example, SEMIKRON ranked amongst the top ten in the Bavarian Award for the Promotion of Women. mehr
