Awards for our efforts around our staff
We are pleased that our great efforts around our staff again and again lead to prizes and awards:
2011: Top Jobs award
In May 2010 the University of St. Gallen conducted a survey among 1,500 SEMIKRON International employees, scrutinising the company’s HR management. The out-come: on 27th January 2011 Semikron was awarded the “top job” seal of quality by mentor Wolfgang Clement in Duisburg, putting the company among the top-ranking employers in Germany.
2008: German President commends training policy
March 2008: Parallel to working at SEMIKRON, our staff may also take part in the initiative “I want a profession!”, a training programme leading to a Chamber of Commerce qualification in machine and systems operation. This training scheme was the result of cooperation with the German Federal Employment Agency, ffw GmbH, the European Education and Training Centre in Nuremberg and the Chamber of Commerce.
2007: Work and Family Audit
In August 2007 SEMIKRON Deutschland received certification by the work and family compatibility auditor berufundfamilie®. This certification constitutes a seal of approval from the Hertie Foundation, a non-profit organisation that aims to establish family-friendly HR policy with recognised quality standards in businesses.
2007: Opening of the company childcare centre
“A clearer focus on family and children is needed in the working world,” announced German Minister for Family Affairs Dr. Ursula von der Leyen at the opening ceremony of SEMIKRON’s daycare centre on 27th June 2007. Almost 500 guests joined in the festivities under the marquee beside the daycare centre Mikro.
2005: Success Factor Family
The Chamber of Commerce and the Alliance of Families called for companies in Nuremberg to take part in the competition “Success Factor Family”, a project initiated by the then Family Affairs Minister, Renate Schmidt. 15 companies from the Nuremberg region entered the competition, including SEMIKRON International GmbH.
2004: Bavarian Award for the Promotion of Women
For many years now, SEMIKRON has been exemplary in its efforts to achieve a good balance between work and the family – not only at its Nuremberg plant. In 2004, for example, SEMIKRON ranked amongst the top ten in the Bavarian Award for the Promotion of Women.
